The Nowra Croquet club held their annual Association croquet carnival Friday April 1st to Monday April 4th.
Players came from Eastwood, Killara, Narooma, Canberra, Jamberoo, Sutherland, Wollongong and Nowra.
There were only 14 entrants so the tournament manager decided to make the draw in two blocks of 7 players and owing to the range of handicaps in each block the games were handicap 2.5 hour games with 15 minutes for double banking.
All players had 6 games each. The Winner of red block was Stewart Johnston from Jamberoo and the runner-up was Brian Manton from Newcastle City.
Blue block was won by David Surridge from Cammeray and runner-up was Diane Scott from Wollongong.
A huge thankyou to Greg Deakin (Killara) Graham Cullen, Bob Williamson and Don Sawers for being at the courts early each day to help with setting up, To Marie McLean and all of her helpers for the lovely morning and afternoon teas and especially to Di Milne for the delicious cream sponges each day. Bob Williamson, Doug Houssenloge and Marie for the BBQ and all of the players who made the tournament an enjoyable event
