Port Hacking Croquet Club
After a very wet start to the Easter holiday break, Easter Monday dawned fine and sunny and 28 cheerful croquet players from Jamberoo, Wollongong , Sutherland and Port Hacking clubs made their way to Port Hacking lawns for the GC Easter Monday Lightning Doubles Competition. The event was a round robin of 7 hoop GC doubles games played in 2 blocks of 7 teams.
Winners of Blue Block were the undefeated mother/daughter team Val Robinson and Pam Markwell from Port Hacking (left) with Robyn Wilson and Betty Muller from Wollongong (right) as runners-up.
After fierce competition, the winners of the White Block were Kath and Bill Coull from Sutherland with Brenda and Roger Evans from Jamberoo as runners-up.
About 10 minutes after club Vice-President Floyd White had finished presenting the prizes there was a huge downpour and the courts looked like this! (Click here for report with photos.)
