NOTES:

This is a first attempt at a combined croquet tournament and tour programme aimed at introducing visitors to the local area. If there is an interest in this venture, we will do it again next year in another part of the State. Cost has been kept to a minimum. The one extravagance is perhaps the lunch at the favourite Rivers Restaurant on the Bellinger river.

Getting There

Train and bus services travel regularly through Urunga. All main and budget airlines fly to Coffs Harbour; catch a Taxi from there to Urunga. Travel there in your own car.

Accommodation

Most play will occur at Urunga. Within walking distance of the lawns are the following:

  • Workers Club’s self-contained units. Modern two bedroom, one room queen bed and one room two single beds. Some overlook the Kalang River.

  • Ocean View Hotel , a 1920’s pub. Rooms are plain and simple. Fully serviced, beds good. Toilets and showers are ‘down the hall’. Good dining room. Room charges reasonable and include breakfast. Weekly tariff available.

  • Urunga Heads Holiday Park. Caravan sites and cabins. Cabins either 1 or 2 bedroom. Bring all linen and towels.
