COACHING CLINICS

Following the success of the two workshops in Canberra and Wagga Wagga the next workshop is planned for Maitland on Friday 16th March commencing about 0930 am. Any Association coaches wishing to attend to either reaccredit or gain points towards their next reaccreditation are welcome to attend.

I am negotiating with Taree for a date in late March or mid April for a Golf Croquet coaching session and dates will be advertised when finalised.

I will be in Forster the 26 - 28 March so any local Association coaches who are due for reaccreditation should make arrangements by contacting me in advance either by email or phone.

In May I am again going to Victoria and any Club that would like me to call in on the way down or back please contact me - I will be travelling to Victoria via the Hume Highway but am happy for the return journey to be either inland or via the south coast and can accommodate more than one Club on return journey.

As my calendar this year does not include any competitions north of Coffs Harbour, any Clubs north can contact me to make arrangements for clinics in their area.

For players in Sydney you have not been forgotten as thanks to Garry O’Dell planning has commenced for a number of clinics in July.

Proposed Coaching Clinics to be held at CNSW lawns at Tempe

Clinic One - Wednesday 18 July and Thursday 19 July

Reaccreditation of Level Two Coaches and observation by aspiring Level 2 and Level 1 coaches seeking to improve. Training a Level 2 coach takes two full days, and the trainees need to have at least started (and paid for) the Intermediate Coaching General Principles course at a Sports Institute.

A level 2 coach can re-accredit by attending the two days of training for a Level 2 coach. With the Level 2 Coach Training, a suitable trainer yet to be selected will be going through the topics listed on the Contents page of the Level 2 Coaching Manual - the technical topics (shot-making) on the first day, and the tactical and psychological sections on the second day.

Clinic Two - Saturday 21 July and Sunday 22 July

Open to all players with assistance from Level 2 coaches for one day at a time. The groups of players can be of mixed ability, of any size (provided lawns and balls are available), but will not be for raw beginners.

Costs for the clinics are yet to be finalised as we are waiting on confirmation on who the next National Director of Coaching is to confirm details.
