2021 NSW GC Division 3 Doubles and Singles

Enjoying mostly sunny weather 38 members from Canberra, Nelson Bay, South West Rocks, Coutts Crossing, Casino, Lismore, Alstonville, Ballina and Byron Bay contested their first ever NSW GC event. The events were held across three locations at Ballina, Byron Bay & Lismore with many players moving locations from one day to the next. We thank all players for doing so, especially those players who travelled between locations after completion of the block round robins on Saturday afternoon to play their first game in the Knockout or Plate.

Fifteen pairs competed in the Doubles event with eventual winners, Jan & Keith Brodie from Coutts Crossing Croquet Club beating runners up Deborah Jones and Judy King from Ballina Croquet Club two games to one in the best of three final.

Many doubles competitors backed up for the Singles event which saw 27 members play over three days. The winner was Michael Dalton from Byron Bay Croquet Club beating runner up Penny Scott from Ballina Cherry Street Croquet Club, two games to nil in the best of three final. Michael only started swinging a mallet in April 2021 so be on the lookout to see more wins come his way.

Players enjoyed superb organisation and hospitality at each venue and all volunteers involved can be very proud of their contribution for very successful tournaments.
